Bye Bye Cable

Today we cut the cable off. It is going to be hard, but TV has taken over in this household. it is fun to watch TV for a little while to get away from reality, but it can suck the life right out of you. 1 person in the bedroom, 1 person in the living room, 1 child in his bedroom and 1 child in her bedroom. We do family night every Friday night and my girl child wants to stay in her room to watch the new episodes. Channel 65 has taken over my daughter's life, Disney. She wants to watch TV from the time she gets home from school until she goes to bed. What happen to shows like "The Beady Bunch?" Cosby Show, Happy Days. They taught kids a lesson and was OK. My daughter is 10 trying to be too grown up. She is to old for cartoons, but too young for these teen shows. Zack & Cody, what, Hannah Montana, too much. ICARLY, give me a break. Josh & Drake we took away a year ago. She can still watch Netflix and download a couple of shows, but we can keep up with he hours our kids watch TV. Also when you work from home, it is easy to watch TV and put the work to the side. I love HGTV and The Cooking Channel, Lifetime, so my hubby is going to install something called a Roku to my tv, and I can download when I want to watch an episode (without commercials yeah). We will be saving appropriately $35 a month. It is going to be hard, but we will get by.........Todd will live also, he loves to watch the idiot box alot. 1. Oh man, what a great idea but I would not be alive if I did that. My husband would kill me.
